A rational amount of Rs 5 crore to be set aside for clerks: Karnataka HC to State Bar Council.

The High Court of Karnataka directed the State bar council to set aside a rational amount of Rs 5 crore for clerks which was given by state for the sake of advocate clerks.
Chief justice Abhay Oka and Ashok K Kinagi administered after advocate’s clerks filed the petition .The bench took the written statement which was filed by state government that sum of Rs 5cr to be granted for bar council, from which some amount is to be given to advocate’s clerk.
Advocate Murthy D Naik appearing for the advocate’s clerk association contended that an amount of 25lakhs to be set apart for the clerks and it must pay out the needy clerks.
The state bar council from the hearing , informed the courtroom that 1163 applications have been received from advocates and are rejected whereas 7844 purposes had been sanctioned and a sum of Rs 3,29,20,000 has been expended.
