5th November, 2020
The bench with the Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy passed the interim order in petitions challenging the collection of Aadhar card numbers from property owners for uploading property details in Dharani portal. Court directed the state not to insist on uploading Aadhar details vis-i-vis the agriculture land details.

Even if there is no allegation that the data so far collected has been leaked or violates the privacy rights of people, the said fact is absolutely immaterial.

If anyone even with regard to agriculture land people will be forced to reveal their sensitive personal data this it is the people who suffer the state has nothing to lose.
Secondly the court directs the state not to insist that detail filled in the Dharani portal list the non-agriculture land owned by people and should be ensure that the information collected should be safe and secure and no third party should access to the information collected by the state.
