6th November, 2020
The high court has asked the CBI to provide the details of their investigation of the Hathras gang rape case, and also asked the amount of time the investigation would take.
The court has ordered a status report before the next adjournment date of the case.
Also the court has looked into the matter of applications given by the accused where they are seeking protection of their rights while the investigation is going on and also demanded that the media should refrain from writing or displaying about them and their families.
The court used “innocent until proven guilty” policy and have took measures in light of protection of the rights of the accused.
Both the petitioner and respondent have duly submitted their arguments before the court seeking various rights.
The court demanded for the transfer of District Magistrate so that the transparency and fairness of the case could be ensured and in light of this matter the court has even provided for security by CRPF to the victim’s family rather than police protection.
The court has also ordered to delete the personal details of the victim and family members from the earlier high court order to protect their rights.
