Attorney general told Supreme Court, the government would amend the 2020-tribunal rules immediately after the judgement passed by the court.

The Attorney General AC K.K. Venugopal told the Supreme Court that the government would be amending the Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal & other authority rules, 2020 as soon as possible.
The case came up when NCLT and Appellate Tribunal Bar Association filed a petition seeking extension of tenure of NCLT, Delhi president until the new president is appointed.
In respect to this petition the court gave several directions to the central government regarding the matter which are- to constitute a National Judicial Commission to deal with the concerns of the tribunals, the court decided to change the constitution of the search cum selection committee.
The court directed to increase the terns of services of the members of the tribunals, also asked to provide housing/allowances to the chairpersons, and even suggested to make the advocates who are having 10 years of practice experience eligible for appointment and several other directions in the case.
