Himachal Pradesh HC to take down the policy that excludes married daughters from compassionate appointment


This order was passed in a writ petition by one Mamta Devi, who wanted her deceased father to make a sympathetic appointment.
As was the case, Kullu, the father of the petitioner, who died before retirement and left behind her sister and mother, was an employee in the District Ayurvedic Officer's office.
She noted in the request she had sought an appointment for a humanitarian reason because her mother and sister were unable to opt-out of employment. However, on the anvil, her demand was denied that the Policy on the granting of labour assistance to the deceased government's married daughter did not provide any clause.
Stating that such government policy runs counter to the spirit of Article 15 of the Indian Constitution,
