Madras HC judge seeks contempt proceedings against Tamil actor Suriya over remarks on judges allowing NEET.

On Sunday (13 September), Madras High Court judge Justice SM Subramaniam wrote a letter to Chief Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi seeking to initiate contempt proceedings against popular Tamil actor Suriya over his remarks about the Supreme Court upholding the Central Government's decision to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test in the midst of a pandemic.
In a press statement, Suriya reportedly commented that while judges themselves are holding proceedings via video conferencing, they are asking students to appear for the NEET exam without fear.
