Mandatory use Of Aarogya Setu app by JNU students and staff has rescinded: announces JNU University.
30th October, 2020
The Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi has cancelled the compulsory principle that the students and staff should install Aarogya Setu app.
The installation of the app is advisable said by the JNU Registrar after granted modified order.
On Oct 21st the JNU Administration issued the direction that making the use of Aarogya Setu is necessary. Now the registrar has dispensed a corrigendum to withdraw the mandatory situation for the benefit of Aarogya Setu. Installation of Aarogya Setu app is not an acute condition of assisting travel by air or rail; Central Government submitted this before the High court of Karnataka.
Through Advocates Rajesh Inamdar and Shashwant Anand, the Student Federation of India was in the process of formulating and documenting the appeal in Delhi High court against the Registrar of JNU that to make use of Aarogya Setu app in the campus.
By seeking the writ of Certiorari against the notification dated 20 October 2020, the SFI defended that Aarogya Setu app is accountable to hacking and meant barely for intensive supervision and obtaining data.
