MP HC disapproves the decision of EOW for arresting 78-year-old retired Colonel

The Madhya Pradesh HC criticized the EOW’s decision for arresting a 78-year-old. This matter was brought in the court while hearing an application filed on behalf of the applicant.
The applicant is a retired Colonel and President of the Tilak Grah Nirman Society, Bhopal. He had been arrested because he happens to be on the post of President of Tilak Grah Nirman Samiti, and had purchased lands from Mohammad Sharif who sold the same on the strength of the power of attorneys which is executed in his favour by the legal heirs of Faiz Mohammad, more than twenty-five years ago.
The court observed the absolute insensitivity with which the EOW had arrested the applicant who has a heart ailment. The court further granted the application and directed that the applicant’s bail to Rs.10, 000/-.
