In an appeal filed by the union of India against a single judge bench order which directed allocation of a medical seat to a national bravery award winner, the Delhi high court gave its judgement in favor of the respondent.
The appellant was opposing the allocation of the seat to the respondent saying that the government has already disassociated with the award and hence they can’t provide him with the seat.
But, the high court after looking into the matter saw that the respondent’s point is liable to be heard. Later, the court allowed the allocation of the medical seat to the respondent, further, saying that the order will not be a precedent for the cases in coming future.
