No credit shell for travel agents, it’s only for the passenger who booked tickets directly: DGCA tells the Supreme Court.
25th September 2020
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has informed the top court that the credit shell facility for tickets booked during the lockdown period will only apply to passengers who could not avail flights.
The Bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, Subhash, and MR Shah had posed a question to the DGCA on why credit shell cannot be given to agents if tickets are booked through an agent. In this reply, the DGCA stated that, when a passenger has a purchased ticket from a travel agent that has already been paid for or by the passenger to the agent, then "either the credit shell or the tickets instead of Credit Shell goes to the passenger directly."
