Parliament to reduce salary and allowance of ministers for one year to meet pandemic experiences.

On Sunday, the Lok Sabha adopted by vote the Ministry's salaries and allowances Bill, 2020.
The same happened on 18 September 2020 with the Rajya Sabha.
The Bill, introduced by Parliament, aims to amend the Ministries' Law on Salaries and Allowances of 1952 and to reduce by 30% for one year (starting from 1 April 2020), the salaries and the minister's sumptuous allowances, to augment the Centre's financial capital to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
In April this year, an ordinance was issued to that effect, which the bills aim to replace
