Plea seeking separate FIR registration of JNU violence dismissed: Delhi Court

A plea was filed by JNU Professor Suchitra Sen through Advocates Adit A.Puri, Tara Narula and Kriti Awasthi and represented by Advocate Adit Pujari, under Section 153(3) of Cr.P.C. The complainant had suffered multiple injuries during the January mob violence at JNU. The counsel of the complainant demanded separate registration of FIR and investigation of the matter and not along with other ongoing investigation of attack being conducted by the Crime Branch. The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Pawan Singh Rajawat, dismissed the case observing that the complainant didn’t mention any apprehension of non-investigation of her complaint and her statement had also been recorded (under Section 161 of Cr.P.C) by the investigating agency.
