Punishment of ‘community service at COVID-19 centre’s on mask violators to be considered: Gujarat HC.
30th November, 2020
The Gujarat high court has said that the imposition of fine on people who are not wearing masks is not enough because people are still neglecting that and to ensure that they wear masks, the court has suggested that those people should be made to work in covid-19 centre's on non-medical services for 10-15 days.
This method is to ensure proper implementation of COVID-19 rules it was suggested when the court was hearing a plea seeking a direction to the state government to increase the fine for those who are not wearing masks.
It is submitted in the court that only imposition of fine on violators is not enough, some other measures are to be taken to control the situation in the state.
Hence, the bench ordered that the idea of making the defaulters work at COVID centre's seems effective to them and they would be considering the suggestion and further the case will be heard on 1 December 2020.
