Release of Former Chief Minister of J&K Mehbooba Mufti, from detention that took place in August 2019:

The Former Chief Minister of J&K and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti was released from detention that took place on August 5, 2019. As her detention was extending from time to time the court had a pending case of Mufti and asked “how long will Mehbooba Mufti be in custody”. She was taken into custody when the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was repealed. And later her detention under the Public Safety Act was being extended from time to time. As Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah who were leaders of the National conference were also detained and would be released later. Mufti was released on Tuesday night and her daughter Itija conveyed thanks through her mother's handle to everyone.
