The SC has asked the center to consider giving a break to doctors in service during a pandemic, saying “they are doctors, not paupers.”

The Center has been asked by the Supreme Court to consider giving a break to doctors in service during the pandemic saying that they have been continuously working since the past few months, it may affect their mental health.
The solicitor general told that the Center would consider the suggestion of the court.
The suggestion was given in the suo moto case “In re: proper treatment of COVID-19 patients and dignified handling of dead bodies in the hospitals, etc.”
In the above case the court asked for the status report earlier to which the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted that report which didn’t satisfy the court
