To rescind the wards of insured person quota in medical/dental colleges: Kerala HC stays verdict of ESI Corporation.

On 15th October 2020, The Kerala High Court stayed additional proceedings with consistent to the memo handed out by the employee’s state insurance Corporation informing that seats filled up in earlier year undergo quota in ESI medical or dental colleges would be filled up by DGHS, for 2020-2021 from the union of India as well as All India quota seats.
The bench of justice N Nagaresh also stayed the decision brought up by the employee’s state insurance Corporation ESIC to terminate the IP quota.
On June 7th 2019 the decision of single bench judge Madras High Court in WP 35853 by 2016 and 17948 by 2017 proclaimed that the reservation policy of ESIC contributing 20% reservation to the Wards of insured persons as unconstitutional and illicit.
The ESI Corporation had documented a clarification plea in that said writ appeal and injunctions are awaited, learned standing counsel further acknowledged.
