Uttarakhand HC asked DM about the conversion application of a Muslim woman who converted and married a Hindu man.

The Uttarakhand high court ordered the district magistrate, to inquire in the matter of a Muslim woman’s conversion to Hinduism and marrying a Hindu man, as their application for conversion is not processed and if processed the court demanded the details of the same.

The matter came in when the girl along with her husband filed a petition to sought protection from her brothers who might harm them physically according to both the petitioners.
The court provided police protection to the couple.

However, Uttarakhand high court earlier directed the district magistrate to investigate about non-compliance of section 8(2) of the Uttarakhand freedom of religion act,2018. Which deals with these types of cases.
